Kevin recently directed the critically acclaimed production of Larry Shue’s ‘The Nerd’ at The George Street Playhouse starring Jonathan Kite, Colin Hanlon, Kate Reinders, Ann Harada, Steven Wallem, Zach Shaffer, and Hayden Bercy. In 2017, he directed and conceived the New York Theatre Workshop’s Spring Gala honoring Michael Grief and Dartmouth College, hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Rachel Dratch, which featured performances by Ben Platt, Patti LuPone, Christine Ebersole, Anthony Rapp, Daphne Rubin Vega, LaChanze, Alice Ripley, Brandon Victor Dixon, Aaron Tevit, and The Dartmouth Barbary Coast Marching Band. He returned to create the 2018 New York Theatre Workshop Gala honoring John Tiffany which was hosted by Zachary Quinto and Celia Keenan-Bolger. Kevin will return to his duties in 2019 to celebrate 40 years of New York Theatre Workshop. In addition to directing 6 consecutive musicals for The Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theatre, which featured casts of 100 actors, Kevin has been involved in the development of many new works including ‘Toe Pick : The Complete Ice Capades of Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan’ which starred John Early, Zackary Grady, Jenn Harris, and Diedre Goodwin and played sold out shows at Ars Nova and Dixon Place, Griffin Newman’s ‘Grifftopia’, also at Ars Nova, as well as The Aspen Comedy Festival Breakout Award Winner, ‘Tastiskank’. He will soon direct a new production ‘Hedwig and The Angry Inch’ for the Zach Scott Theatre in Austin, Texas.
As an actor, Kevin has originated roles on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in Regional theatre, as well as numerous appearances in television and film. He has worked for The Roundabout, Playwrights Horizons, Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage, Williamstown, The Old Globe, The Ahmanson in LA, Bard Summerscape, The Guthrie, City Center Encores!, among others. He has worked with such directors as Julie Taymor, Woody Allen, Kathleen Marshall, Des McAnuff, Christopher Ashley, Adrian Noble, Nicholas Martin, Garland Wright, Casey Nicholaw, John Rando, and Madonna. Acting highlights include the original companies of ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Hedwig and The Angry Inch’, a Lortel nominated performance in ‘The Foreigner’ opposite Matthew Broderick, and he received the OutMusic Award for his debut album ‘Doll’ with his band Kevin Cahoon and Ghetto Cowboy. Kevin currently plays Hugo on Netflix’s ‘A Series Of Unfortunate Events’.
