Devorah Kengmana is an NYC based Lighting and Projections Designer. Originally from New York, she holds a S.B. in Theatre Technology from MIT and an M.F.A. in Lighting Design from UMKC. She has interned at the San Francisco Opera and was named the 2016 Lighting Design Fellow at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. She has assisted designers such as Jane Cox, Christopher Akerlind, Victor En Yu Tan, Japhy Weidemann, Yi Zhao, Jake DeGroot, Rocco DiSanti, and Alan Edwards. She works both locally and regionally, having designed for Music Theatre Group (Hatuey), Portland Stage Company (The Niceties), Voyage Theatre Company (The Mecca Tales), Crossroads Theatre Company (Beyond the Oak Trees, The Mecca Tales), Merrimack Repertory Theatre (A Christmas Carol), Central Square Theatre (The Convert), Axial Theatre Company (Nectar), The Unicorn Theatre (Clybourne Park), and Kansas City Actors’ Theatre (Journey’s End) as well as designed shows for Tom Gold Dance, Wylliams Henry Dance Company, and Donna Micelli Dance Center.
