Alex Sanchez is a New York City based director/choreographer of Puerto Rican heritage. He spent his childhood in both his native Chicago and Puerto Rico. He began his dance training on scholarship at Lou Conte Dance Studio and furthered his training at The Ruth Page Foundation of Chicago. Alex later joined Ballet Chicago and danced four seasons with the company. During his time with Ballet Chicago, he would moonlight performing in musicals at various venues in the Chicago theater district.
Alex’s diverse career in both acting and dancing, has given him an in-depth understanding of theatrical storytelling and how to break down the intention of the plays text. He uses his love of history to do exhaustive research on all of his projects. That is why Alex’s approach to any work is always through the lens of finding the most truthful answer to express the piece.
Alex Sanchez is thrilled to announce that he will be staging the new musical Broadway musical, PARADISE SQUARE. Directed by MOISÉS KAUFMAN and Produced by Tiberius Entertainment. The musical is schedule to open at The Barrymore Theater on March 15th.
